Let's get your raffle website live.
The application takes about five minutes. A real person reviews it, usually same business day. Most nonprofits are live and accepting ticket sales within 24–48 hours of applying. Here's what to have ready before you start.
The most common reason applications take longer than 24 hours isn't anything complicated, it's missing information. The three things that cause the most delay: (1) no EIN on the application, (2) unconfirmed prize ("we think we have a donor"), (3) payment processor not yet set up for the organization. Have all three in hand and you'll typically be live before end of next business day.

What you need to apply
Have these ready. It takes ~5 minutes with them.
-
Your 501(c)(3) EIN
Your IRS-issued Employer Identification Number. This confirms nonprofit eligibility. No EIN, no raffle. -
Your state
Raffle laws vary by state. We check eligibility during vetting. Utah and Hawaii are not eligible. -
Your prize, confirmed
What is it, what's it worth, and do you physically have it or have a written commitment? "Probably getting a car donation" is not a prize. -
Your raffle format
Traditional, basket, Queen of Hearts, 50/50, duck race, or hybrid. Not sure? See all formats → -
Target launch date
Give yourself at least a week from today. Raffles set up and promoted in a rush raise less money than those with a proper runway. -
Payment processor
Your organization's Stripe, Square, or Authorize.net account, connected to your org's EIN and bank. Not a volunteer's personal account.
Don't have a payment processor yet? Stripe is the fastest to set up, usually approved in minutes. Go to stripe.com, create an account in your organization's name, and connect your bank account before you apply.

Raffle Mastery is the guide we wish every organization read before their first raffle. Prize selection, ticket pricing psychology, what kills sales, what drives them, and what the hotline hears every week from organizations that skipped the planning step. Written by the Chance2Win team. Free.

No mystery, no automated status emails that say nothing. Here's the actual sequence.
You submit the intake form
Five minutes. Your organization basics, EIN, state, prize, format, launch date, and payment processor information. The form lives at chance2win.org/host-a-raffle/.
Day 0 → TodayA real person reviews your application
Not an algorithm. A Chance2Win team member checks your eligibility, your state's requirements, your prize documentation, and your payment processor setup. If everything is in order, you get a green light and next steps. If something needs attention, you hear exactly what and how to fix it.
Usually same business dayYou build your raffle website using the wizard
The wizard walks you through setup step by step: prize details, ticket pricing and bundles, drawing schedule, organization branding, payment processor connection. A traditional single-prize raffle typically takes 30–60 minutes to configure. A basket raffle with 15 prizes takes longer.
Same day as approval — a few hours of your timeYour raffle website goes live
Ticket sales open. Supporters can buy from any device. Digital tickets with unique numbers are delivered by email. Your dashboard shows real-time sales. The drawing happens when you're ready, you initiate it, it doesn't auto-trigger. Export your donor data when the campaign closes. Call us if anything breaks.
24–48 hours after applying for most organizations501(c)(3) nonprofits of all sizes across ~45 states.
If your organization has an active EIN and is based in an eligible state, you probably qualify. Here are the kinds of organizations that run raffles with Chance2Win every week.
Schools & PTOs
Basket raffles and traditional fundraisers for equipment, field trips, and school programs. PTOs are among the most frequent users, high supporter engagement, clear community network.
Churches & Faith Groups
Traditional and 50/50 raffles for building funds, community programs, and ministry projects. Note: church communities have higher tip-abandonment on competitor platforms, the Premium plan's zero-friction checkout consistently outperforms for faith communities.
Sports Boosters & Youth Leagues
50/50 raffles at games, traditional raffles for equipment and travel. High-energy audiences that respond well to live and online ticket sales running simultaneously.
Veterans Groups & Social Clubs
The natural home of Queen of Hearts raffles. Large, loyal memberships with weekly meeting touchpoints and the audience depth needed to build a progressive jackpot. We've watched VFW posts and social clubs run Queen of Hearts campaigns that go six months and raise $200,000.
Hospital Foundations & Health Nonprofits
Higher-value prize raffles, gala basket events, and annual fundraisers. Organizations in this category typically run Premium plan, cleaner checkout for donors accustomed to gala-level presentations.
Community Events & Civic Organizations
Duck races, ball drops, and traditional raffles tied to annual community events. These organizations often have the most complex numbering needs, precisely why the Chance2Win duck race/ball drop format exists.
